The White Goddess

You Are An Oak Tree

You are a person of action, and it's easy to get what you want.

Sensible and practical, you always keep both feet on the ground.

You are courageous and strong - little scares you.

A bit stubborn, you don't like change.

You're an independent type, and people often wonder if you need them.

So...there it is, people. I am an oak tree. And I RULE.

Well, I am an elm tree, which means I am a pleasure to be around!?

Thanks for the fun link, anyway. I was a little afraid to try the "soulmate" link--in case my wife turned out not to be the one.

Oh, that "soulmate" link is a joke. Probably hooks you up with some celebrity who's icky or you wouldn't have a shot at anyway.

Ha, Ha, what a fun link! I am a Hazelnut Tree but definitely not a fighter or activist for anything political!!
You Are A Hazelnut Tree***
You're a charmer with a killer sense of humor.
You are very demanding, but you can also be very understanding.
No matter what, you always make a lasting impression - you're quite popular.
Passionate, you are an active fighter for social causes and politics.
In general, you are moody, honest, a perfectionist, and very sexual.

So do you need people? I mean you sound like you have everything right there, in your big sensible field.

Well, Kieran, you've asked a very interesting question, and one which I suppose requires a fair amount of soul-searching to answer. But to be short, of course I need people, everyone does. My friends, family, couldn't live without 'em, not to mention strangers: waiters, people in service industries of all kinds, plumbers, electricians, bus drivers, entertainers...of COURSE. We all need everyone else. It's a SYSTEM, dammit! Even people who piss us off, because we need to be challenged from time to time.

What I DON'T need is constant reassurance from people. Yes, I'm very independent in that sense. I don't need people to be telling me they love me all the time, and being operatic about it. I can go days without speaking to a single soul, and be perfectly happy. I know my friends and family love and support me - I don't need to hear it all the time. And I don't like it when people expect me to be all up in their face about loving and supporting them every minute of the damn day. It should be known and understood. I can't be holding people's hands ...

See what I'm saying?
