I believe that the first joke EVER in the history of mankind was probably a fart joke. Or it had something to do with uncomfortable digestive issues. Who am I to argue with the very HISTORY of COMEDY?!

I loved him so much back in the day, even when he was so non PC my mother's hackles would steadly rise.
I once watched him with one of the italians, and I was laughing uproariously, and at the end of the piece the Italian -who was smiling along politely actually said,
'What is he speaking? Is Irish?'
And I said, 'No, English.'
'Yes, ha ha but what is he really speaking?'
'English! I swear.'
I had to rewind the video-yes it was that old-and play it twice more, pointing out various English words before he believed me.
He's a genuis, isn't he? I would marry him.
My dad used to go to work on the same bus as Billy Connolly in Glasgow and he had the whole back of the bus in fits of laughter fairly regularly.
When I was wee and went to Glasgow for the first time, our first stop was to The People's Palace to see his banana boots. I was in awe when I saw them. God bless The Big Yin!

Sassy - welcome to the pub! I agree, potty humor is hilarious, and there's nothign wrong with that. Mankind is meant to laugh at itself, it's what makes life bearable...and farting, pooping, peeing, puking...all that stuff, is where everyone is equal, it's what we ALL have in common. That's why it's essential to find it funny. If we can't laugh at ourselves...I shudder to think...
I can't help giggling at all that. Fart jokes are just so... so... well, I'd say "class," but....
