Me as was.
Inspired by Medbh's outing herself on her blog, with a photo of herself in the 80's.
Here I am, with my dyed black hair and (gasp) is that EYE MAKEUP? Must be. Nobody's eyelids are orange unless they missed their shots.
The year - I believe it's 1988. An apartment in the student ghetto of Allston, Massachusetts.
Look at that skin, huh?
This black hair didn't last long. The dye was messy and dyed the skin around my face and ears for about a week after each touch-up, and as my ginger grew out, the part looked just awful. My poor mother thought I was going bald when my ginger and pale scalp started showing.
I'd do it again, though. I liked that Louise Brooks haircut. My friend Kim did that with the help of some clippers and about a dozen Heinekens. I wonder where she is now. She should move back here. I need drinking buddies and a way to avoid going to Supercuts.
So. That's me. EGAD - 20 years ago.

It's Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction!
Plus about 50 pounds!
You are a knockout, Andraste!
I love the Louise Brooks look on you!
Huzzah!
Wow, thanks Medbh. I've never considered the camera a friend, you should see pictures of me now - I look like a dishrag.
But I suppose in my 20's I cut a pretty good figure. Goth-wise.
I hate having my picture taken as well, Andraste. It often feels like an invasion of privacy or something.
You have a great nose, lovely skin and shiny hair.
And you're working those bangs, which few women can pull off.
BREAKOUT!!!!

Sad to say i don't have the bangs anymore. A very insistent poofter at the salon I went to a few years ago talked me into growing them out, said I was too old to rock the bangs anymore. Still - I'd do that haircut again, and probably will, once I'm ready to chop it all off for good.
Oh FMC - good call! I'd forgotten about them!
FMC, that woman has great eyebrows, sculpted to the max. But Andraste has better bangs.
Swing Out Sister - exactly!
You looked great! Tres chic, mon ami! You're channeling the att-i-tude, baby!
I loved herm I thought she was the most stylish women ever. I was jealous of her shiny awesome hair.
I'm just peeking at your My Library over yonder and "Things My Girlfriend And I Have Argued About" is at the top. It any good?
Hiya Sam - Yes, I loved TMGAIHAA a great deal - laughed out loud in public while reading it. I think Mil Millington is hilarious, so far I've read all of his novels and I've signed onto his mailing list. His e-mails are just as funny as his books.
Though don't take its position in the library thingy as an indication that it's my favorite or anything. The program just picks books at random and throws them out there in different order at different times.
on another note, I'm glad to see people are checking in, despite my quietness of late. I'm very, very busy at work and have so little to say of any import that this little bloggy thingy has taken a back seat to just about everything else. I promise to get back on the horse soon, though.
We'll be here when you do, hun.
Hope it's the fun sort of busy!
